I just randomly sketched this inbetween work with no idea why or for what, when I put this up as my daily on facebook a friend wrote something for the character. I enjoyed the life she breathed into him. The writing for it follows.

One hour and 15mins. That is exactly how long i have been standing here waiting for someone who at this point i am not even sure is going to show up.
I must be mad or insanely desperate at this point to still be here, but every time i try to just walk away, and go fill this mundane weird Tuesday with something better, i hear a nagging voice in the back of my head that insists…”Just a little bit longer…”
It has gotten so insistent that i started humming that old maxi priest tune just to help pass the time and keep myself in place. Even this place made me feel like leaving, nondescript walls covered in old raggedy fliers, Coffee served by people who were too cheerful and oh so ready to tempt me off my “new healthy lifestyle” with sugar filled goodness that made my hips swell with every inhale through my nostrils.

Where in the world was he?

He was in fact watching her, for exactly one hour and 17 mins. He was seated out of her line of sight, and carefully committing to memory all the details of her, the way she tapped her fingers with impatience, the way her eyes seemed to miss nothing, glancing to and fro, people watching, and the way she gazed longingly at the baked goods section of the coffee shop.

Beep. The signal finally came in, she was cleared, and now he could go meet this woman who had been waiting for him to appear for the last hour and 20 mins.

Out of the corner of my eye, i saw someone walking towards me. He was dressed in a way that made him stand out, just because he blended in so well with everyone else in this artsy fartsy hang out. He looked like one of them, but in my eyes, and mine only since no one else was paying him attention, his whole ensemble looked like a well put together mask. Which is why he caught my eye. No one who really belongs in a place fits in perfectly. When you belong and you are comfortable that part of you that makes you different from everyone else, shows.
That was Luke. It had to be.
