Took a break after exams and went out to see some art and listen to some music in woodbrook. I cannot find the damn cord to connect my phone to the PC soo I dont have any pictures of Marlon Darbeau’s show of my own to post. However you can read about it here and here. It was nice to see something a lil different, I liked the graphic installation which made statements on government using traffic symbols signs and imagery. I really liked the pillows with the irritant tags so I have to get me one.
Left the show and took some time to vibes a new band called Canboulay, I kinda liked their music but it was difficult to hear them properly sounds were muffled the instruments were killing the vocals, so I would probably try to hear them at a different venue. Corner Bar was a cool scene though, Leacock have excellent taste in music.
So yeah as for them Saturday Sketches I will have them up this coming weekend.
In between all the drama that happen over the past month or so, I have work there waiting to expose etc, but I kinda keeping it on the low. You see I waiting on my long time creative collaborator Warren to organise himself ( he in the middle of relocating) so things like Pooraj and Mammo etc there, but not ready yet to be released. Who knows, Christmas coming so I go leggo ting like a hungry Extempo man looking for an audience. In the mean time some more artwork after the jump.
Okay so pretty much I nothing has been updated for a little over a month but I am actually busy doing creative things ( honest) besides school. Some of these things however I cannot quite talk about till they are complete but I have a few sketches from my notebook I thought I would put up today. I have some more art that I will place again as I have more time and my friend give me back my notebooks (strongy is still inking and colouring the next 2 episodes of Pooraj and Mammoo).

Not that I have not been working but some work I am preparing for in the future have me not working on current projects but they are fun and creatively driven so there will be quite a bit of images and developments coming out of them soon enough. I almost did not put anything up, but I did have a few sketches that I thought were interesting. Preparing for midterms so I did not do a lot of sketching this week, strangely, cause I felt like I am beginning to free up a bit with my style. This week, I started to play some more with my markers. I am kind of getting a little more into exploring my media and regaining something of my past in terms of my confidence and freedom. I can see myself using a lot of watercolour or watercolour like pieces really soon. N joy!

I have performed as a somewhat decent Rapso artist. I wouldn’t have even tried to hold a mic if it wasn’t for these 5 performers which hold a lot of weight in influencing the decisions that led me to attempt to walk a Rapso path. In my humble opinion they should be some of the starting points when thinking of Rapso music.
Cauchemar they called him and a nightmare he truly was. His very appearance was dreamlike; seemingly if you looked at him too closely he would float away into nothingness. Barely 5 ft tall and with a slim reed-like frame he was easy to miss in a crowd.
A friend of mine asked me recently, “do you have ne words of advice for a retired pen artist? i havent picked up a pencil since i left school and these days i get the urge to draw but i cant come up with nuthin. ne pointers?”
From my experience art is something you really have to constantly work art. In a drought, it helps to have a lot of inspiration from artists/art you like to kinda jump start your mind. My response to him follows. However I think I should add that reading helps a lot with drawing and is something that should be on your sketching diet.
